Objects tell stories through their subject matter, through their materials, or through how they are worn and used. This special workshop at the Yale University Art Gallery that will bring together makers and scholars from across the country to explore these and related topics during a series of panels, conversations, and hands-on sessions. The workshop is inspired by two recent, transformative gifts to the Gallery: a group of jewelry, objects, and sculpture donated by the Enamel Arts Foundation and a selection of jewelry donated by Susan Grant Lewin. A related installation—American Jewelry: The Susan Grant Lewin Collection at the Yale University Art Gallery—will be on view.

The workshop is organized by curators Patricia E. Kane and John Stuart Gordon. It will take place at the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.
