Once a part of an award exhibition at the Society of Arts and Crafts Boston, the Stacked Brooch is a one-of-a-kind sculpture to wear. The top circle is a handmade alloy of copper and silver I hand poured called shibuishi. The bottom circle is sgraffito enamel, a process by which I fire a layer of white enamel, then paint a layer of black and scratch the surface to reveal the white underneath. A top layer of clear is applied and under-fired to a sugary texture. This brooch has it all, intrigue, alchemy, and bold design.
