Extracted from the depths of the Narragansett river, this piece of wrought iron was forged and bent to form this evocative shape. The flat sides were then enameled in my signature sgraffito designs. Looking closely you’ll find a ruby set at the crux of the bend. This necklace is extra long, making the pendant sit at your naval. The idea is that the weight can be relieved by holding the necklace at your side. Due to its length, this is not a burden, but rather a part of the experience.

This necklace has been featured in several exhibitions, including my solo exhibition at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, TN and in Greenville, NC at the Shared Past/Divergent Futures exhibition. My work is in the collection of many prominent institutions including the MFA Boston, MFA Houston, Yale Art Galleries, Racine Art Museum and many more. For my full bio, please see my Bio page.
